How To Crank Up Your Intake Of Anti-Oxidants

By Katherine Crawford

Unfortunately, every step you take is a step closer to death. The good news is that you can slow down this process of free radical damage substantially.

And helping your body combat free radicals is one of the best things you can do to accelerate recovery from exercise and to slow down aging.

Thus, here are 6 steps towards increasing the nutrition in your diet:

1. Drink loose leaf tea: Bagged tea is inferior to loose leaf tea. My personal favorite is loose leaf green tea since it's high in anti oxidants, boosts your mood and improves blood flow. And all of these components are vital for your health.

2. Start having true cinnamon: Much more powerful than the regular cinnamon you find in stores, true cinnamon has a less intense flavor and wont thin out your blood. Even better, not only is it loaded with nutrients, but it also helps keep blood sugar stable.

3. Have some supplements: All you really need here is a multi vitamin with very low doses. In fact, I don't recommend taking anything that goes over one hundred percent daily value for anything. Stay on the safe side here.

4. Optimize your salads: Don't just stick with standard lettuce here. Instead, opt for the more nutritious leafy greens like kale, chard and mustard greens. Now it may take some time to get used to the new flavors and textures, but it's well worth it.

5. Start putting turmeric on your chicken: Although simple, this is a great strategy for getting more turmeric in your diet. Turmeric also goes really well with recipes that have chili in them. And recall that turmeric is very high in nutrients.

6. Have cloves: Another anti oxidant powerhouse, cloves are a great source of nutrition. They can be a little tricky to incorporate, however, because of their strong taste. I recommend putting them into your tea for the easiest implementation.

Enhancing the anti-oxidant potential of your diet is a great way to slow the process of aging. Even better, it will enhance your speed of recovery from exercise.
