Flavoring Coffee Is Affordable

By George Napoli

Occasionally stopping at your local coffee shop for a cup of coffee with an extra blast of flavoring is fine if you only go once in a while, it is an excellent way for you to pamper yourself. However if you are someone who cannot seem to get through the day without stopping at the coffee shop, you have probably noticed that you never seem to have any extra money. Making your own flavored coffee is one way you can save money and still start the day off right.

The first thing you need to consider before you start experimenting with flavors is the quality of the coffee you use. Cheap instant coffee is good for a jolt of caffeine but it is not great if you want to make something that tastes great.

You are not going to add the flavor until the coffee has finished brewing. You will want to pour yourself an mug and mix the flavoring directly into your cup. One of the simplest ways to make sure your coffee tastes just like the coffee at the coffee shop is to purchase the same flavoring.

Since handling these bottle can be difficult, you can pour some of the syrup into a smaller, easier to handle bottles. If you do not have any smaller bottle, you can try a clean eye dropper. Add only a small amount of syrup and keep sampling the coffee until you have it flavored perfectly, too much flavoring tastes terrible.

The other down side to the coffee store syrups is the price. They can be costly. One solution is hot chocolate packets. Today all sorts of gourmet hot chocolates are available. All you have to do is open up one of these packets and stir it into your coffee. When the powder is completely dissolved, your coffee is ready to drink.

If you do not like chocolate tasting coffee you can always think about picking up a flavored creamer. Most grocery stores carry an extensive collection of the creamers and they are inexpensive. Every year different flavors are being created. The one thing you need to keep an eye on is the expiration date on the creamer.

Another option is making your own syrup. This really is not very difficult. All you need is the extract of your favorite flavoring, 2 cups of sugar, and one cup of water. Mix 2 teaspoons of the extract with the sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue to allow it to cook until the sugar has completely dissolved. Provided that you keep the syrup in the refrigerator it will keep for a month.

Natural flavor drops is the best low cost alternative to flavoring coffee. Flavoring concentrates are easy to carry and even easier to use. The best thing is, natural favor concentrates have 0 carbohydrates. Another great advantage of using these products is the variety of flavors they come in, from the basics like vanilla and hazel nut to the delightful taste of caramel or cinnamon bun.

Brewing your own flavored coffee is not only cheap, but it is also simple. The best part is that you will no longer have to put up with cranky customers, not being able to find a parking spot, and getting bumped and spilling your coffee. Brewing your own means you can relax and enjoy your coffee as you putter around the house.
