The Foods That You Eat Or Do Not Eat Have An Impact On Your Weight Loss For Teens

By Patricia Fontana

Have you ever heard someone say, "you are what you eat?" It could be that you just thought people used this phrase to promote healthy eating but, actually, you are what you eat. For example, the amino acids contained in the tuna from a tuna sandwich are digested and used by your body muscle building and cell growth. When you ingest too much junk food, you may find that your skin color changes and you appear fatter, whereas when you consume healthy foods, your overall appearance is slimmer. So, diet is the first place to get started when you wish to lose weight. There's no point in exercising if your diet is not healthy! You have to ensure your diet consists of meals that are nourishing! When it comes to teen weight loss it can be a very sensitive subject.

So, what should you put in your nutritious diet that will speed weight loss? The goal is to reduce the calories so that you lose weight, but without starving yourself or causing yourself to overindulge on junk food. It's a good idea to slowly modify your eating habits by slowly adding healthy food and lessening the number of calories you eat. Slowly replace your meals and snacks with newer, better options. Thus, the first thing you need to include in your diet is protein. Protein is essential for growing cells and building muscle, as well as a few other things. You can get lots of protein in your diet through foods such as meats (chicken, pork, beef), eggs or soya bean products. Carbohydrates are the next most important nutrient you should have in your diet. Don't go crazy on the carbohydrates though, as too many will only turn into fat if the energy from them isn't used! Choose foods including whole grain bread and brown rice for your carbs needs. Last, you need to add fats. Surprisingly, your body must have fats in your diet even when you're attempting to slim down. Eat healthy fats that are contained in things such as walnuts and fish. And remember to consume fresh fruit and greens since they have lots of vitamins and minerals that your body needs!

You should also be aware of the varieties of foods you ought to avoid. Talk about only seeing the tip of the iceberg; but that is what we have presented so far about weight loss for teens - there is so much out there. By all means, do not stop with what you are learning here today; that would be a shame.

This is all we ask of anyone, really, to view this with a receptive mind and go farther with it. That particular state will allow you to operate from a greater position in your life. Make no mistake about it - you have the power to exert far more control over your life than you realize. Most of them are pretty apparent; avoid consuming too much fat by ingesting lean cuts of meat and don't eat junk food because it contains too much calories of little nutritional value. Stop eating refined carbs in bread and pasta products and opt for healthier whole grain options. Eliminate alcoholic drinks whenever feasible as it will not help you to slim down.

You should now be aware of the right foods to consume and the ones to avoid. Explore some healthy options to replace your current eating habits. If eating too much at one sitting is an issue, eat 5 to 6 smaller meals during the day so that your stomach will shrink and require less food.
