Prevent E.Coli Disasters

By Jack Wogan

The E.Coli contamination of the fruits and vegetables is another problem that threatens humanity. Germany was the first country to report the existence of this problem after several people died of infections caused by this bacterium. Various analysis and tests have been performed and thus, scientists have been able to determine that the mutated bacteria reside in vegetables and fruits and not in meat as it was believed.

Meat was considered to be one of the most toxic products that humans eat; therefore, vegetarians and nutritionists tried to convince people to give up steak in favor of veggies. The appearance of the E.Coli bacteria has caused an unexpected turn as scientists have noticed that the organic meat that may be found in stores is much healthier than vegetables. As a matter of fact, farmers feed their animals with chemical-free food and the meat products are stored in sterilized areas where they are repeatedly subject to tests in order to determine their quality.

You can tell whether you suffer from E.Coli infections or not if you present any of the following symptoms: bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps, vomiting and low-grade fever. You should not neglect the warnings of the doctors as these bacteria are highly resistant to medical treatment and the recovery of the patient takes a lot of time. On top of this, drugs have to be carefully administered because big doses may cause dehydration and kidney problems.

So far, there have been mild and severe cases of E.Coli infections; it depends on the moment when the disease gets discovered. The patients who have been diagnosed with mild forms managed to recover after long periods of convalescence in bed and hydration. Those who did not come to the hospital in time had to be constantly supervised and, unfortunately, some of them have lost their lives.

Since vegetables represent the main source of infection, doctors recommend people to stay away from veggies and to consume meat products instead because you can be sure that once cooked, the meat is healthy. It is also important to wash your hands before you eat and to drink only water that is known to be potable.

The unpredictable nature of veggies has determined agriculturists to give up their plantations in favor of meat production. This way, they won't have to worry that their products are destroyed by germs or bad weather conditions as meat is a much profitable business. Customers who purchase organic meat have a lot of reasons to be glad as online butchers constantly come up with offers in order to quickly sell their products.
