Fruit Smoothies Are A Friendly Detox Plan

By Alison Simon

Many folks accept that de-toxing their body is a smart way to kick start a good weight management program

But chemically dependant de-tox programs cerainly are not the answer! A detox diet plan can be entirely natural and still quite successful without the urgency of probably damaging chemicals. A natural detox diet plan is based on big quantities of fresh fruits and vegetables to be effective and a terrific way to get the necessary amount is in smoothies. Fruit and vegetable smoothies can be prepared as a breakfast, lunch or mid day meal with entirely organic ingredients.

Preparing a smoothie that flushes out the bad stuff and promotes energy is actually simple and straightforward. Smoothies can be made with a a wide number of fruits, fresh veggies juices and dairy products which contain all the ingredients you wish to not only turbo-charge your metabolism but are also packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and nutriments desired for excellent health.

You can make a big number of different smoothies without violating your detox diet plan. Smoothies made with a wide selection of berries, carrots or perhaps dark leafy green veg like spinach have a great deal of fiber which is vitally important to digestion. Making smoothies with citrus fruits like oranges, tangerines, limes or lemons will help flush out poisons. And, fruits with a diuretic effect include cranberries, melon, pineapple, kiwi, or cantaloupe to name just one or two. Detoxification doesn't have to be harsh and cause you to feel uncomfortable. With the right combination it can be healthy and natural.

There is also a simple and efficient way to add rather more critical nutriments to both of your diet and your smoothies by adding a big spoon of Chia seed to all of your fruit smoothies. Chia is a more complete food source than either flax or whey powders and has the added advantage of having no taste of its own. Therefore it will mix well with all of your smoothie recipes without changing the taste or results.

Try this breakfast smoothie tomorrow and you will be pleasantly surprised at the additional energy you have throughout the day.

1 cup of fresh strawberries

1 big orange, peeled, sectioned and seeded

1 lime, peeled and seeded

1/2 cuplow fat yogurt (your choice either plain or vanilla)

1 Tbsp Chia seed

Combine all of these ingredients in your blender and mix until smooth. Sometimes a smoothie can be too thick because of the natural state or ripeness of the fruit you use. If the smoothie is too thick, simply add 1 or 2 ice cubes and mix again until it reaches the consistency you prefer.
