By Jeffrey Yeomans

The world is a busy place these days. There never seems to be enough time to get everything done. The problem is that our diets do not provide enough food energy to keep us awake the 16 to 19 hours many people need to function in their active lives.

Energy drinks have turned into the primary means for young people to get the required energy boost they seek to get through the day.

Popular energy drink brands like AMP, Red Bull and Crave energy are promoted very heavily and are well known. Today some brands like Crave Energy contain small amounts of sugar unlike the first brands that came on the market. These high sugar brands cause a sugar crash and headaches for many people.

Before considering buying or using an energy drink, make sure you read the product label and pick on that is low in sugar and high in B vitamins. The ingredient list will also show which ones are created with natural ingredients and which ones are mainly artificial.

Most the top energy drink brands provide the desired boost of energy to people. These supplements can offer a sustained energy for a good portion of the day. Many truck drivers prefer energy drinks over coffee because of their taste and energy effect.

More and more outdoor enthusiasts are using energy drinks mixes to get the needed energy boost without the bulk of canned drinks.

The energy boost from the best energy drinks normally lasts 3 to 5 hours which makes them a great solution for shift workers who need to fight off tiredness and perk up mental alertness in the early morning hours.

The pricing for the more common energy drinks range from one dollar fifty cents to three dollars depending upon the market place. Compared to the price of coffee energy drinks are value priced when you consider their impact on your energy level.

There are disadvantages to using energy drinks which include the amount of caffeine they contain and the unknown length of time they provide results. Many people over use energy drinks as they are not recommended for daily use.

Marketers are focusing their message at young people but that has not stopped people in the 30s and 40s from using the product. One serious concern is why people use energy drinks along with drugs or alcohol.

If you do not like the taste of coffee and you want to drink something to help you stay awake then an energy drink that is low is sugar and high in B vitamins is likely the best choice. This combination provides the best results with the least amount of side effects. Energy drink mix powders provide a convenient solution for people on the go and should not be over looked.
