By Lila Barry

A healthy vegan snack is just what you need with a busy life going on and there is no time to cook up something. For some of us working two jobs a day and have to rush from terminal to terminal, a mini bite is all you need to keep your energy levels high. Plus if you are keen on your weight and health and do not want to fill yourself with the cheap but unhealthy fast foods, a vegan bite is what you need to hear about.

Now there are multiple options in how you can make a lovely vegan mini bite to carry to school or work. If you have not tried it before a good place to start will be fruits. Fruit are healthy and full of energy and they can in different options like apples, berries, bananas and also mangos & paw paws though you will have to be careful with the peels on the latter.

In a different week, you can decide to go with salads during the day. You can prepare a healthy salad by first lining the bottom of a jar with salad dressing then mix up different veggies to fill it. During the day all you have to do is mix up the dressing and salad and you have a good healthy lunch; just make sure the salad was stored in a cool place to remain fresh overnight.

If you are not the veggie or fruit type, or you just want something dry to eat then this is where you pay attention. To start you off you can try a variety of nuts each day like macadamia, ground nuts, kola nuts, walnuts or cashew nuts. For seeds sunflower and pumpkin are a great pick but make sure you nibble sparingly or you will feel real heavy.

Do you like chips? Not the high calorie potatoes but veggie chips you can crunch on as you work or study. You can start out with Zucchini and Kale chips which you have to dry first before you can nibble on them during the day. They still have their nutritional value intact even with dried up and quite tasty too.

Smoothies are a great way to stay healthy too and you can never miss them in the vegan mini bite menu. Greed smoothies are the best with their high fiber content and feel your tummy real good. Just blend a few veggies into a fine green smoothie and store it in different jars to last you a week or so.

The beauty of a vegan mini bite is the freedom to choose whatever you want to go into the final product. You can play safe with familiar ingredients or you can decide to be a bit creative and work out different ingredients together. Try out some cucumber with vegan cream and see if you like it or some veggies with ranch dressing to make them tasty.

So many of us live a pretty busy life and we do not have the time to cook healthy organic food. However we do not have to fill this health gap with junk foods which will only get us sick. A healthy vegan snack is all you need to keep healthy; it is easy to make and there are plenty of fresh and healthy to try out.
