The Best Way To Eat Baja Mexican Food

By Tammie Terry

Baja Mexican food has a reputation which has continued to grow over the last few decades. In past years, the cuisine in this part of the Americas was relatively under the radar, with most people knowing next to nothing about it. Those who did have an idea considered it rather one-dimensional and straightforward. More recently however, things have started to change.

With many restaurants and eateries now popping up everywhere, travellers have the opportunity to experiment with and enjoy this spectacular cuisine. Tourists are enjoying the relaxation of the area with the added benefit of excellent eating. After all, food is a crucial aspect of travel.

This cuisine is characterized by a rich variety of fish and seafood. When eaten alongside the many tropical sauces, made from the freshest fruit in the region, this fish takes on a taste of its own. An example might be fresh snapper with mango sauce, an absolutely delicious main course.

Combined with the main fish dishes, all customers will have an exciting range of appetizers and side-dishes at their disposal. One of these is what is locally known as sope. This is a circular piece of corn dough, stuffed with either prawns or mushrooms. In some restaurants, the offer of a combination of both is presented to you. This is entirely unique to this region.

There is also the option of a more refined lobster platter. This can be boiled in the traditional way, or if preferred can be fried in animal lard. This provides that extra layer of tang and taste. The best aspect of the lobster dish is the fact that it is uniquely served with salsa and tortilla chips.

Seafood cocktails and tacos very often prove to be the favorite dish locally. Both dishes are delicious served with a unique avocado sauce, specific to the area. The addition of avocado dressing gives the tacos a creamy sensation never quite experienced before.

Making the most out of Baja Mexican food is easy with the right means and enough patience to acquire them. With a good knowledge of where to eat, you are sure to find some of the best tastes in the country. This helps add to an overall fantastic holiday, along with your relaxing and sight-seeing paradise.
